Salary: £55,641 to £63,864 p.a. (Including LWA)

 

Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance is seeking to appoint a Head of Performance Science. This is a pivotal leadership post and provides the opportunity to influence both within the Faculties of Music and Dance and across the institution. We are looking for an experienced academic with a keen interest to further develop research and the application of performance science to enhance pre-professional training and performance. We are interested in applicants from the fields of performance science (dance/music/musical theatre) and sports science and the successful applicant will have an established research profile and substantial experience in academic teaching and leadership.

You will hold a PhD with proven experience of leading research projects and mentoring teams, and the ability to take on the role of a Director of Studies/Lead supervisor for PhD students. The postholder will have a research time allocation and be expected to attract research funding for the institution and lead research projects. The successful candidate will be joining a passionate community of staff and a wider community of international links and partnerships.

To be successful you will evidence your expertise and subject knowledge through your qualifications and experience. You will enrich our research culture and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to establish new and innovative collaborative work both between faculties and with stakeholders. The role will involve leadership and management of a small team as well as lecturing and supervising at UG and PG level. We welcome candidates from the fields of Performance Science and Applied Sport and Exercise Science.
